Request deletion in one step

Email support@scanmynotes.in from the address registered to your account, with the subject "Account deletion request."

We confirm receipt within 24 hours and complete deletion within 30 days.

How the process works

1. Send the request. Email support@scanmynotes.in from the email registered to your ScanMyNotes account. Use the subject line "Account deletion request" so it routes correctly.

2. We confirm receipt. Within 24 hours, you'll receive a reply confirming we received the request and have queued the deletion.

3. Verification. If the request comes from an unexpected address, or you have an active paid subscription, we may ask one additional verification question before proceeding.

4. Deletion completed. Within 30 days of confirmation, your account and all eligible data are permanently removed from our systems. You'll receive a final email confirming completion.

What gets deleted

— Your account profile (email address, name)
— All scanned images stored on our servers
— All extracted text and AI corrections
— All audio files generated from your text
— Your usage history and plan information
— Local cached data on your device, when you uninstall the app

Once deleted, this data cannot be recovered. You can re-sign-up at any time with a fresh account.

What we retain, and for how long

A small amount of information is retained even after account deletion, either because we're legally required to keep it or because it's been anonymised and no longer identifies you.

Payment transaction records: 7 years. Required by Indian tax and accounting law.

Anonymised aggregate usage statistics: Indefinitely. No personal identifiers; cannot be linked back to you.

Customer support email history: 2 years. Used for quality assurance and dispute resolution.

Want to delete only specific scans?

You don't have to delete your whole account to remove individual scans. From the History screen in the ScanMyNotes app:

1. Open the History screen
2. Long-press any scan to enter selection mode
3. Tap additional scans to select multiple
4. Tap the trash icon and confirm

Per-scan deletion removes the image, extracted text, AI corrections, and generated audio for the selected scans from our servers and your device. The action cannot be undone.
